Amara Palencia

“This, too, shall pass.”
your palm’s warmth against mine,
back when your fingertips traced my lifeline.
A perfect hue of deep blue just like no other.
The unspoken vice of mine, my beautiful disaster.
Even if you did share the same eyes
with someone I once called a “lover.”
So it felt sad when you pulled me closer,
because I knew we wouldn’t last forever.
Call me once more,
I am yours in that lifetime, for sure.
The wave of reality did hit me,
when your silence was so eerie.
Your lips indeed cast spell,
making me weak until I secretly fell.
To feel and love is to be man,
and to embrace reality is to be human.
If the world serenaded me,
tell me why it constantly led me to you…
or you? Help me, I am falling deeply.
We don’t need to utter a single word,
I can feel your heartbeat like a gentle blur.
My soul feels empty without your loving,
Your presence is what sets my heart so free.
The days passed and you make me wonder
if you would allow me to rewrite an ending or two,
where we chose our little home and each other.
