In this lifetime, we are in a world of sinners and saints,
no wonder why your heavenly name somehow sounds so faint.
Please be patient with my uncertainty,
I hide my sleeve under the cloak of “cavalry.”
You were truly never keen on seeking,
but some part of me takes glimpses of you
while you are unaware and not looking.
This is what I get for letting the fates
prophesizing my reality.
Through the years,
I never questioned destiny.
Yet for the first time in my life,
I am praying for a way
to defy the odds to make you stay.
In different phases of the moon,
I still long for the streamline of sunlight
and your sunlit eyes locked on mine.
Yet there is a divide between us.
A cold, unbearable, empty space.
The night is quiet after a strong confession,
It’s been a while since the last time
I heard words filled with utmost passion.
We are wise enough to hurt each other
by choosing honesty over regret.
Even the seasons grew weary of how time flies.
Sadly, we both left each other behind.
My unsung baritone aria, stay here for a minute.
I dedicate this ode of yearning only for you.
