Inside my safe cocoon
here I dwell and will leave soon
Inside I never have to fear possession
though I’ve been dreading my transition
I don’t have a choice in nature’s course
Humans, soon my wings will be yours
I’m supposed to embrace freedom
But my prison is the thought of what I’ll become
The approach of tomorrow makes me fret
I don’t want to be a butterfly just yet
